In her Halifax studio, Dorothée Rosen –a graduate of internationally renowned NSCAD University’s Jewellery Design program- creates unique art jewellery of outstanding elegance and beauty, inspired by her surroundings, and executed to the finest detail.

Dorothée Rosen, designer, maker, president and owner of Dorothée Rosen: designer goldsmith, was born in Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1989 at the age of 19. In 2005, she graduated from NSCAD University with a major in jewellery design and metalsmithing, and a minor in art history (focus craft). Dorothée founded her company upon graduation, and incorporated in 2009.
Recipient of various awards, and featured in several international books on contemporary jewelry design, Dorothée is becoming one of East Coast’s most talked-about jewellers. In her Halifax studio, Dorothée Rosen creates unique art jewellery of outstanding elegance and beauty, inspired by her surroundings, and executed to the finest detail. Her European upbringing informs her design sensibility, which makes her work so noticeable on the discerning wearer. Most pieces are one-of-a-kind within several series, or hand-made in limited editions. Among many other pieces, her iconic Onefooter rings in gold and silver are sold in high-end galleries across North America, including the prestigious contemporary jewelry galleries Galerie Noël Guyomarc’H in Montreal, and Mobilia Gallery in Massachusetts.

Dorothée has been a practicing Buddhist since 1989, went to dathun at Gampo Abbey with Ani Pema in 1990, and Seminary with KSMR in 1992. Her other main practice is Kyudo, and she is currently international Machen Corps Commander.
